The foundation of our design is a 6-stick tensegrity module, combining compressive and tensile elements in a pre-stressed arrangement that enhances stability, strength, and mobility. What sets us apart is the incorporation of lightweight artificial muscles, strategically attached between vertices, which further bolster the module's torsional capabilities. These specialized muscles allow for efficient twisting movements of up to ±49.5 degrees of rotation.

Our revolutionary prosthetic design uses tensegrity structure principles and accurately positioned artificial muscles to achieve extraordinary torsional mobility. This discovery provides unprecedented flexibility and strength, surpassing previous records by 2.5 times.

The precise positioning of three muscles within the module, between two twisted triangles, is determined through mathematical analysis. When the muscles contract, torque is created, causing certain vertices to move closer together and enabling remarkable active torsion while maintaining excellent tensegrity properties.

Through the integration of artificial muscles and tensegrity, our modular prosthetic limb offers enhanced movement capabilities. Experimental results demonstrate impressive arm twisting, lifting, and bottle gripping and maneuvering, representing significant advancements in the field of tensegrity structures.

By replicating these modules through modularization principles, our 4-module prosthetic limb prototype showcases incredible capabilities, including gripping, lifting, and unprecedented twisting motions.

Our modular tensegrity structure allows for low-cost maintenance. The interchangeable modular components allow for easy detachment and replacement of damaged sections, eliminating the need for entire prosthetic repairs.

Our prosthetic arm is made of carbon fiber. Its weight is exceedingly light, its specific gravity is less than 1/4 that of steel, and its specific strength is 20 times that of iron. Our customers will sense nature's movement.
